Multi-Channel Controllers for Water Quality Monitoring

The MC 6587 and MC 7687 multi-channel controllers can each monitor up to three digital sensors, giving MC controllers the ability to provide control and alarming functions on a large combination of water quality parameters. If necessary, users can connect two or three sensors of the same type in order to have a double or triple validation.

The MC 6587 is furnished in its own wall-mounted IP66 enclosure while the MC7687 is equipped with an IP65 front panel and is designed to be mounted in a larger IP65 (or better) enclosure. Both MC controllers may be powered by a wide range of AC voltages and a 24 volt DC powered version is also available.

EACH INSTRUMENT PROVIDES:

  • Programmable dual analog output for recording and acquisition of the monitored values or PID control
  • RS485/ Modbus (Function Codes 03, 06, 16) 
  • Hold/alarm function activated by two external dry contacts
  • Automatic/manual autoclean function
APPLICATIONS
The MC 6587 and MC 7687 are an excellent choice for a number of applications, including:
  • Reverse Osmosis (RO) Pretreatment Systems: The MC products are an excellent choice for monitoring the equipment and treatment processes used for pretreating reverse osmosis feed water. The MC products' ability to monitor multiple parameters such as turbidity, free chlorine, temperature, and others allows the precise control of the pretreatment system to insure low life and dependable performance from any RO system. 
  • Filtration Systems: The ability to monitor feed turbidity, filtrate turbidity, and backwash turbidity (suspended solids) with a single instrument makes the MC products an excellent choice for monitoring and control filtration systems of all types. This includes conventional media filtration as well as high performance membrane filtration systems. Other filtration applications include monitoring free chlorine before and after carbon filters. Another involves monitoring turbidity before and after iron removal (greensand) filters together with monitoring oxidizer concentration in the the filtrate. 
  • Membrane Bioreactors (MBRs): For MBR applications, the MC products can be used to monitor dissolved oxygen in the bioreactor while monitoring turbidity after the membrane filters. Another MBR option is the ability to monitor multiple dissolved oxygen values at various points in the bioreactor. 
  • Cooling Water: For cooling water applications, the MC products allow the simultaneous monitoring of oxidizers, turbidity, and conductivity. 
  • Other Applications: Due to their ability to monitor multiple parameters coupled with the long list of available sensors, the MC controllers represent a great value for any water treatment application.​
