This month, RODI Systems completed this submerged ceramic microfiltration system for treating wastewater from a yarn mill. The system utilizes Cembrane silicon carbide membrane and will be replacing an older tubular UF system that didn't stand up well to the frequent chemical cleaning necessary in this application. Utilizing Cembrane silicon carbide ceramic membrane, the Miocene unit is processing wastewater with BOD5 (5-day biochemical oxygen demand) as high as 6,000 mg/l with no detectable BOD5 or suspended solids in the filtered effluent.
